This study analyzes the relationship between sustainable business models and the circular economy in micro and small enterprises (MSEs) at an international level through a systematic review of scientific literature published between 2020 and 2024. Sustainable business models are understood as approaches that integrate economic, social, and environmental value creation, supported by systemic innovation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders. In this context, the circular economy emerges as a key paradigm that promotes resource efficiency, waste reduction, and long-term sustainability. Methodologically, the research is based on the PRISMA guidelines, ensuring rigor, transparency, and traceability in the study selection process. The databases Scopus and ProQuest were used, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria that resulted in a final sample of 14 relevant articles. The findings reveal a direct relationship between both approaches, highlighting the importance of co-creation, innovation, and the articulation between public and private actors for the development of circular models in MSEs. Additionally, benefits such as enhanced competitiveness, job creation, and contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals are identified. However, research gaps are also evident, particularly in Latin American contexts, suggesting the need for further studies to deepen the understanding of these dynamics.
